Week (-3) Update – August 17, 2008

Coaches, this weekly update is for your benefit – upcoming events and “to dos” to keep you on track. If you are on this list in error send me an email for removal.
You should have held your team meetings and signed up all volunteers by now. You are probably practicing already. If not please call all your parents and let them know what your schedule is.

- UK Training nights – We will have (3) professional coaches available for YOU to use training your team. They will be available on your field on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, for 6 weeks starting Monday August 25th for (1) hour training slots at 4:30, 5:30, 6:30 & 7:30. These were VERY popular last year and all slots will be booked quickly. Please send Ramin Khalilzadeh your 1st and 2nd choice for time slots - his email is raminkh@verizon.net. Include in your email the following information in a single line for each slot you want:

- We have a neat new program for Field banners this year – see the web page and contact Scott Barshay for details !!--------------------------------------------------------
- DROPS and ADDS – If you have not contacted a player yet - to let the DA know, we have plenty of players on all waitlists. And, tell parents of players that drop that they will not get a refund unless they contact Mike Gregory directly (Our registrar). Drop details are also on the web page.

- Access to the fields for weeknight practices will be off Janss Rd. – but all access on weekdays and weekends will be off Paige Lane until further notice. Please NO DOGS at practices or games … let your DA’s know of any drops ASAP …
- Picture day is Saturday 9/13 – Schedule is available now.

- I have a 19 yr old ex-high school player that would love to assist on a girls team this year, maybe a U8/U10/U12 – She is available after 7PM on Tusdays/Thursdays. Email me if you want her contact info.

****** FINAL COACHES CLINIC THIS SATURDAY!!
ALL coaches in U6 and ALL head and assistant coaches in U7/U8/U10/U12 must attend and get certified if you are not certified already at your age group.Plus, ALL assistants and head coaches must take SAFE HAVEN at least once.
You can take SAFE HAVEN online if you know your eAYSO ID at http://soccer.org/Programs/ProgramUpdates/Online+Certification+and+Training.htm

Click on “Lookup”
Click on “Course”
Put ONLY the roster number above into the “Roster Number” box and click “Course Signup”
Type in your name and “Search for Volunteer”
Fill in the bubble and click on “Add Attendee to Program roster”NOTE--- The normal field entry is CLOSED Saturdays and Sundays – please use the PAIGE LANE entrance that is mapped out at the following link:
Then -- Just show up next week at 8AM for Safe Haven and 10AM for all other courses and bring water, sunscreen, and running shoes if you will participate..
