PRACTICE LOTTERY - 2008

We have adopted a new system last year that seemed to work pretty well. You no longer have to hang around for an hour or 2 waiting for your number to be called! We will do a random draw of team numbers and post to this website; see the links below for your team's pick in the Practice Lottery. Show up at your assigned time!

The Region 9 Practice Lottery will be held on Sunday July 27, 2008 at ~~the Conejo Creek soccer fields~~ the Goebel Senior Center parking lot, across Janss Road from the soccer fields (updated 7/25/2008)

3:30pm for coaches with multiple teams (U7-U19)
4:00pm for U7 & U8 coaches (1 practice per week) click here for your team's draw
5:00pm for U10 - U19 coaches (2 practices per week) click here for your team's draw

If you want to quickly find the assigned time for your team's draw, use your browser's Search function (Ctrl-F or Edit, Find for Internet Explorer) to find your team number (e.g. U7G11 or U10B03)

This will be the only chance for Team Coaches (or their designee, if he or she is unable to attend) to choose their practice times for the upcoming Fall season.

Please keep the following in mind:

Show up on time. If you show up late, you will be the last in your group to choose a day and time.
Patience is a virtue: you may be among the 1st 5 coaches in your group to choose, or you may be among the last 5. Experienced coaches have been known to bring along water, sunscreen, a chair, and something to read.
Flexibility and adaptability are also virtues: with more than 200 teams, not everyone can practice Tuesday & Thursday at 7pm.
Practice days are Monday through Friday; practice times are on the 1/2 hour, 4:30pm to 7:30pm

It will speed up the process if you:

Know your assigned Team Number (e.g. U07B-03 or U10B-19).
If you are not the Team Coach, know his or her name ("Coach Bob" won't be enough).
Check to make sure that the Team Coach has been registered as an AYSO Volunteer for the 2008 season and that his or her Volunteer Application has been processed by our CVPA staff. You can check to see if this has been done at:

If you are the Team Coach and your name is not on this list, be sure to complete a Volunteer Application on-line at www.eayso.org, print out and sign two (2) copies, and bring them with you along with your Drivers License or other valid ID. Volunteer Applications must be verified in person; your spouse or a friend cannot have your Application verified.
